We serve as a gateway to our nation’s aging network—connecting older adults to vital community services that can help them stay healthy and independent.
More than 60% of senior centers are designated focal points for delivery of OAA services—allowing older adults to access multiple services in one place.
Senior centers offer a wide variety of programs and services, including:
Meal and nutrition programs:
At BCSCC we offer lunch Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, and breakfast on Fridays from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Cost is a suggested donation of $6 for individuals over 60 and $8 for anyone under 60. We are open to the public and encourage families to come in an enjoy a meal.
We can also connect individuals with a nutritionist from Area Agency on Aging.
Health, fitness, and wellness programs:
Our seniors participate in a variety of fun activities throughout the week. Please check the calendar tab to see those activities and times.
Volunteer and civic engagement opportunities:
Helping hands is always looking for new faces to join in on their various projects. Their schedule can be found on the calendar.
Social and recreational activities
Educational and arts programs
Safe driving classes
Weekly food pantry:
Seniors over the age of 60 can come in on Tuesday or Wednesday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm to access the pantry.
We are open to new ideas. If there is something you’d like to see added to our services, don’t hesitate to ask.
